Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This role partners closely with field operations, project management, and leadership to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and promote a strong culture of safety across the entire company.

As an Safety Coordinator you will:

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, implement, and manage electrical safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, NEC, and applicable local/state requirements.
  • Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments related to electrical work.
  • Lead and document incident, near-miss, and accident investigations; develop corrective actions.
  • Deliver electrical safety training (e.g., lockout/tagout, arc flash awareness, PPE, energized work practices).
  • Maintain electrical safety documentation including, OSHA 300’s, JHAs, training records, and audit reports.
  • Collaborate with Foremen and Superintendents to plan safe work practices and address deficiencies.
  • Track safety metrics, trends, and KPIs; prepare reports for leadership.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices; recommend program improvements.
  • Serve as a safety resource for employees, answering questions and providing guidance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional – CSP) is not required, but preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and standards.

License/Certification

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • OSHA 30

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, climb ladders, sit, use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch or craw.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move or lift more than 75lbs
  • Travel may be required as per project needs 20-30%
  • Occasionally extended hours and overtime may be required to meet workload demands.
